Hi, I'm Akash.

I travel to see how other people solve everyday problems.

Five countries and forty places in two years, mostly staying in hostels. Off the road I play five sports, have started three local ventures in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and live with a dog called Aalloo. These are the stories.

Sports

What I play.

Badminton

Fast rallies on an indoor court.

Swimming

Laps in the pool.

Pickleball

Paddles, a plastic ball, a small court.

Chess

One board and a long think.

Snooker

Green baize and long pots.

Growth

What travel changed in me.

A wider mind

Every country showed me another way to live, work and be happy. I came home with a broader view of the world, and fewer certainties about my own.

Memories over money

The best nights on the road cost the least: a hostel bunk, a desert camp, a village doorstep. Travel doesn't need much money. It needs time, and the decision to go.

Peace over luxury

Desert camps and village homes made me ask what a better life really is. More and more, my answer is peace and a simple life.

Family

Aalloo

My dog. Yes, like the potato.

Aalloo turns up in more of my photos than anyone except me.
